Privacy Policy

In short: we don't share or sell your data to third parties, and we don't use it for advertising. All infrastructure tAI relies on (including the account system and the AI service) is first-party, operated by Artfical — your data never goes to unknown external companies.

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains what data we collect while you use tAI (an Artfical product), why and how we use it, who we share it with (or don't), and your rights over that data. By using tAI, you agree to this policy.

2. What data we collect

Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as an irreversible hash, never in plain text). If you sign in with Google, your Google account ID and profile picture.

Profile preferences: your nickname, occupation, custom instructions you give the AI, your interface language, and your privacy preferences (location data and training-permission settings).

Chat data: the messages you send, the AI's responses, and chat titles.

Usage and session information: your message counts (to enforce usage limits), browser/OS information for your active sessions, and an approximate country derived via Cloudflare. We do not store your raw IP address in the database.

3. How we use your data

We send your messages to our AI service to generate a response.
We save your chat history to your account so we can show it back to you.
If you've set a nickname, occupation, or custom instructions, we use them as context so the AI can give you more relevant answers.
We use your approximate country (if you've allowed it) to auto-set your interface language — you can turn this off anytime from Settings > Privacy.
To keep your account secure (session tracking, features like "log out of all devices").

4. Who we share your data with

We don't share or sell it to anyone. All infrastructure tAI relies on, including the AI service we use to answer your messages, is operated by Artfical — meaning your data is never sent to unknown third-party companies. We don't share your data with anyone for marketing purposes.

The one exception is when we're legally required to (such as a court order), in which case we only share what the law requires.

Your own sharing choices: if you deliberately make a chat public using the "Share" feature, anyone with that link can view it. This is entirely your choice, and you can remove the share at any time.

5. How we protect your data

All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed irreversibly. Your account can only be accessed with your own session token, and all database access happens in a controlled way through the application layer.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, all your chats, messages, and session records are permanently and irreversibly deleted from the database — we don't do soft deletes.

7. Your rights

Export: download your full chat history as JSON from Settings > Privacy > "Export."
Deletion: permanently delete your account and all your data from Settings > Account.
Changing your preferences: turn location data usage and the training-permission setting on or off anytime from Settings > Privacy.
Revoking shares: remove any chat link you've shared, at any time.

8. Cookies and local storage

tAI stores session tokens and your language preference in your browser's local storage (localStorage) to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children's privacy

tAI does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we become aware that this has happened, we remove the account and its data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes, we'll update the "last updated" date on this page.
