In short: Use tAI for lawful, non-harmful purposes. Every message runs through an automatic safety check before it's sent — a message that violates this policy is blocked and never reaches the AI at all.
This Usage Policy expands on the "acceptable use" section of our Terms of Service and spells out what's off-limits on tAI. For hacking, malware, and similar topics specifically, see our stricter Cybersecurity Policy.
Every message you send goes through a separate, fast safety classification before the main AI model ever sees it. This check categorizes the message; if a violation is detected, the AI never processes it at all — a fixed warning is shown instead. This is an active check that runs on every request, not a passive background system.
You may not use tAI to:
The following do not violate this policy — our classifier is designed to tell these apart:
Your message is blocked and you'll see: "This message has violated our usage policies and cybersecurity policy." A one-off violation usually only affects that message — we don't restrict your account for it. Repeated or serious violations may lead to suspension or termination under our Terms of Service.
The automatic check can occasionally flag a harmless message by mistake. If that happens, try rephrasing, or (for the cybersecurity category specifically) try a different model — both options are offered right below the warning.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above for meaningful changes.
